The Call: Still Life with Crystal and Fruit — Cheryl
Yesterday’s still-life shoot convinced me that setting up the shot is worth the effort. Today, I decided to go with the vases. Over the years, Dennis has bought me many pieces of crystal. Two of the vases here were Christmas gifts from him; one was a wedding gift from a former co-worker. I chose these containers over the others, because the lines and angles etched in them caught my attention (and they’re my favorites).
Very nicely done! I’m very curious about this background and the one from the hydrangaes on flickr…very nice! What are you using? DId you make them? Inquiring minds want to know! ; )
OK. I’ll let you in on it: both the red and blackish color (it’s actually a dark, grey-green by Sherwin-Williams called Muddled Basil) are painted on walls in the renovated mold room (I guess we’re calling it the family room now). We’re keeping the red (which is on accent walls), but will be choosing a different color for the rest of the walls. I’m good with the Muddled Basil (in fact, I’ll probably paint it on a canvas to use as a background), but Dennis wants something different. I also added Kim Klassen textures to each photo, and those provided extra depth.
