Innocence
The Call: White is the Color of Innocence Cheryl
Design by Robert Frost
I found a dimpled spider, fat and white
On a white heal-all, holding up a moth
Like a white piece of rigid satin cloth—
Assorted characters of death and blight
Mixed ready to begin the morning right,
Like the ingredients of a witches’ broth—
A snow-drop spider, a flower like a froth,
And dead wings carried like a paper kite. What had that flower to do with being white,
The wayside blue and innocent heal-all?
What brought the kindred spider to that height,
Then steered the white moth thither in the night?
What but design of darkness to appall?—
If design govern in a thing so small.
The Response: White Rose — Jessica
Innocence dwells with wisdom, but never with ignorance
— William Blake
I love your high key rose — are those water droplets? I’d love to hear the behind-the-scenes on that image…maybe a post for “Still Working out the Details”? ; )
Isn’t it funny that we both thought of white and we both chose roses?
You might hear the back story. Stay tuned. But what about you? Did you just happen to have a white rose on hand? I must say that’s an interesting quote by Blake. It gives me something to ponder. I like that. : )
