The Call: Old Ivories — Jessica
This is the second time that the $10 garage sale piano that sits in my basement has been featured as my C&R contribution. Score!!

I had my wedding gown custom made of ivory dupioni silk. When I could find Alçenon lace only in white, my seamstress suggested I dye the lace with tea. It worked perfectly.
It looks like you’re getting your money’s worth, Jessica. I’ve purchased items simply to be used as photo props. Hmmm … do you think that puts me in the category of professional? Probably not, huh? : }
I have the same disease! I can’t buy something new for the house or kitchen without thinking of it as a potential prop… ; )
That’s beautiful lace, is it left over from the wedding dress? My dress was ivory too. I wonder if that more the style then or if they are still popular now. Some of the dresses now, though…oh my!
Yes, the lace is left over from the wedding dress. There was a fabulous shop not too far from where sister and I lived in Denver: Allyn’s Millnery and Bridal Supply. I just looked it up; it’s still there.) Oh, the laces and trims and fabrics! What a heavenly place.
