Second Call: Dancewear Cheryl
I hesitated before choosing this shot. My fingers were itching to tweak those pinks and make them a little brighter — not to achieve greater veracity (the colors are pretty spot-on), but to create a little more “wow.” The more I study the photo, though, the happier I am with it. Restraint, parameters, boundaries: they can be good things.
Have you tried Nik software? There product Viveza would be perfect for quickly selecting the pink of the ballet shoes and gently increasing the brightness if just the shoes. I would say that they are a bit underexposed, but you wouldn’t want to just nuke the whole shot because the leotard looks perfect. Google just bought Nik and the software is MUCH cheaper now and it stands alone or works as plugins in PS and LR.
Sliver Efex is awesome for creating b & w. I’ll share some links on g+
I haven’t tried the Nik software. Feel free to share away! : )
