This afternoon, while my daughter was in her homeschool drama class, the little boys and I took a walk around the grounds of the facility. It was a little muddy thanks to all of yesterday’s rain. But it was relatively warm and the sun, while not steady, was peaking out of the clouds more often than it was hiding behind them.
And it’s a good thing. I have a house full of little boys (and some big boys) who are getting increasingly restless and weary of the inside of the house. The little boys run laps around the first floor in the afternoon and the bigger boys just get cranky. We need Spring and we need it NOW!
And lucky for us, as if on cue, nature seems to be listening. While most of the landscape is still grey and brown and dead, we did find some little bits of green and new growth. Baby green grass was pushing up toward the sun — half-hidden under a pile of never-raked-up leaves and clumps of just-about-to-bloom daffodils waited patiently for the sun to come back out. I’m sure I’ll have pictures of their flowers for next week’s Walk and Click Wednesday.
And I am so thankful for that!
Nice close ups of the growing grass (yeah!!) and the browning wreath on the stone wall. I don’t think we’ll be seeing green grass for a few more weeks. It’s nice Spring is around the corner and you can get your boys outside!
We have very little green, but plenty of white!
Like the concept in your first pic that instead of the wreath being green, it’s the stones around it. Beautiful!
So good to see you, Jessica. What a beautiful collage … as much as I love the dried out wreath hanging on the rocks, my favorite is the macro of the grass poking through the leaves with the fab depth of field!! Looking forward to seeing the daffodils. Thanks so much for joining Walk and Click Wednesdays!!
Oh I long for those shoots of green grass and daffodils. I live in Michigan and we have had steady snow since the middle of January. Visiting from Walk and Click.
