Focus. Oh, if only I could! Maybe that’s the reason I love lensbabies so much — I’m all over the place just like your eyes in a photo when the focus is weak or soft.
Whether it’s because of adult-onset ADHD (is there such a thing?) or because I’m pulled in seven different directions at any given point in the day… Whatever the cause, I have a very hard time seeing a project through to completion. That lensbaby portfolio? Yeah, still working on it. That e-mail to Somerset Publications? Yep, still working on it. I give myself deadlines, I work for a limited amount of time, and then I wander off to something else. The laundry needs folding, the dishes have to be cleared so there is room for the dinner set, Tommy needs new shoelaces and I know we have a set somewhere in this drawer (or is it this one?) My mind is racing ahead to the next thing: the next crises, the next fire, the next need.
I really need all these balls to come down out of the air because I can’t keep up the juggling any longer. But I can’t imagine that it will happen anytime soon. So does focusing on one thing at a time really help?
Oh, Jessica, I understand completely, and I am in love with your tulip shot.
Thanks, Cheryl! I’m eagerly waiting for the light to improve to take some more today. Now if only I could figure out how to meld tulips with “prose.” ; )
I’m so with you. It’s children, they suck out our minds 🙂 at least they fill it with joy too.
Isn’t that the truth?! I always tell my three year old it’s a good thing he’s so cute…it saves him each time he does something naughty. ; )
