Oh Texture Tuesday, how I love you! I love Kim’s lovely textures and it’s always a bit of fun and challenge to come up with something new. Plus it gives me a reason to experiment! And I do love to experiment when I have the time.
So, the baseball shot was my standard submission. But I had taken a shot earlier in the day of a metal cross I have on my hallway wall. I used an orange gel on my flash and that’s what started the color work. Lots and lots of textures going on here. Kim’s Golden and a distressed canvas provided the base. I also added a layer of color fill (rich oranges and reds) and a new fun texture that provided the paint brush strokes.
But I thought I could do more. I had a flickr contact who made some incredible kaleidoscope-type images and so I borrowed his technique and after lots of flipping, blending, and merging, this is what I ended up with. I love the colors and I love the mandala type effect of all this. Very happy with my afternoon of playing. : )
Love all the texture work…aa a mom former little leaguers, now grown, the baseballs brought back some sweetie memories.
I really like the kaleidoscope image – very cool! Great colors. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a message.
WOW – you really worked that and got such a cool image! I love it.
Love, love the baseball image; wonderful textuizing and love the tone of the picture. The others are great also.
