It’s the best of times, it’s the worst of time…it’s back-to-school time!
It’s busy with purchasing and organizing and cleaning…inspecting shoes, and backpacks and uniforms and deciding what can be used again, what needs to be bought…
Even though I miss the routine that comes with school, I really appreciate summer’s more relaxed approach to the day.
Even though I miss the little bit of quiet that I get during the school day, I also miss my dog walkers and dog feeders and dish-doers and laundry-put-awayers.
I definitely have mixed feelings about August and back-to-school time. That being said, the oldest two go back this Thursday and the middle ones start on Monday. Time to start the driving circus again! I wish I had a big yellow bus to take mine to their schools.
Texture Tuesday Recipe:
I forgot to grab a screen shot before I merged the layers, but basically, I took a shot of the school bus in the school parking lot with Hipstamatic (using John S lens and Pistill film — I think…). I used Kim’s 123 texture twice but the second time just the portion that had the 123 on it and then used Sweet Treat to frame it. Sweet Treat is one of my all-time favorites — I love the soft pink and the brush strokes and the frame. It works so nicely with so many photos! I also used a lovely green canvas texture by Ellenvd.
Love the quote and your texture work!
Your picture turned out beautiful with these textures, love the ‘sweet treat’ frame !
Thanks for your lovely comment,
Sylvia
Now that’s the truth. Love your treatment of the image.
I love the photo and quote. I don’t have any children, but I’m visiting my sister and family and I understand the driving circus circuit! Enjoy your last couple of days with your helpers! A great TT photo and texture work!Have a great day!
Wonderful photograph Jessica, and good luck with all of the back-to-school changes!
Wonderful photo of the school bus. I enjoyed the little ones and the high schoolers over those years I drove. V
Love your photo for TT. Great quote as well!
Great picture and I love your editing story about it. All my children are grown and have been for years now. When in a store and seeing all the school supplies, I kind of miss the excitement of getting them ready for first day’s back, but I really always hated to see summer end and my all day time with them. My youngest grandbabykins starts Kindergarten this year so I know his mom is having some emotional days about her baby being old enough.
This image is timeless. Love the perspective and the phrase.
Such a wonderful response and interpretation of the theme. Love this!!!
